Urban Black takes ownership seriously. Our investment modeling activities allow owners to invest in our projects. As a response to the traditional practice of real estate investing – an industry that provides little access to People of Color – we counteract this practice by intentionally securing Investors of Color and individuals of the diverse communities in which our projects serve.
We strongly believe that our projects should not only commemorate our communities by programming, design, and business modeling methods, but provide actual financial means of ownership. This trans-formative thinking is what differentiates Urban Black from other traditional developers: we truly get economic ownership in the hands of our communities.
